Launching on Kickstarter today, Little Launchers is a children’s book series that showcases the true stories of real kid entrepreneurs and their businesses.
Written by technology journalist and entrepreneur Erica Swallow and illustrated by graphic designer Li Zeng, the series is a wonderful tool for introducing children to the concepts of entrepreneurship, perseverance, creative thinking, and philanthropy.
After researching hundreds of kid entrepreneurs from around the world, the duo decided to feature the stories of four kid entrepreneurs with inspiring founding stories. The featured kid entrepreneurs include:
- Sebastian Martinez, founder and CEO of Are You Kidding?, a wacky socks company
- Gabrielle “Gabby” Goodwin, founder and CEO of GaBBY Bows, a company that makes patented no-slip, double-faced hair barrettes
- Jason Li, founder and CEO of iReTron, a tech startup that buys, resells, and recycles old electronics
- Rachel Zietz, founder and CEO of Gladiator Lacrosse, a lacrosse equipment company
The Kickstarter Campaign
Live from March 28th at 7:00 a.m. EST to April 28th at 7:00 a.m. EST, the Little Launchers Kickstarter campaign features a range of Rewards from $10 to $1,500. Backers can choose from Rewards including one hardcover book, the entire hardcover series, or the digital series. For those interested in stocking the school library or giving gifts, the “Double Doer” and “Triple Timer” Rewards are available for two and three full print series, respectively.
For educators and community leaders interested in classroom, library, bookstore or organization visits from the author and illustrator, the “Community Builder” and “Global Giver” Rewards are of note. Backers can book either author Erica Swallow or illustrator Li Zeng to visit for a customized speech, either within the U.S. or anywhere abroad. The visit comes with a signed series and the full digital ebooks Little Launchers set.
