Little Launchers Unveils Website to Advance Youth Entrepreneurship

Little Launchers launched its website, entrepreneurkid.com, on Wednesday to contribute to the advancement of youth entrepreneurship. The project, catalyzed by journalist and entrepreneur Erica Swallow and graphic designer Li Zeng, is focused on inspiring children everywhere to think creatively and solve problems.

The duo’s first project is the Little Launchers picture book series, which showcases the true stories of four real kids with real businesses, including Are You Kidding? CEO Sebastian Martinez, GaBBY Bows CEO Gabby Goodwin, iReTron CEO Jason Li, and Gladiator Lacrosse CEO Rachel Zietz.

Written by Swallow and illustrated by Zeng, the series will launch on March 28th on crowdfunding site Kickstarter.

Meanwhile, parents, teachers, and aspiring young entrepreneurs can begin learning more about youth entrepreneurship on entrepreneurkid.com.

Entrepreneur Kid Website

“My vision for Little Launchers is that it will become the central source of information on youth entrepreneurship,” says Swallow. “Whether they’re searching for local classes, resources, or inspiring stories of kids who have achieved greatly while so young, parents, teachers, and kids can come to entrepreneurkid.com for insights.”

Developed by web developer and designer Dan Ndombe, the site features a one-page design and standalone blog, accented by bright, youthful colors and playful design elements.

“The website is a reflection of the Little Launchers featured in the books,” says Ndombe. “We went to each of their homes and met them and their families. They’re fun kids! We wanted the site to reflect that, so we chose fun colors and used a cartoonish design. It’s a great balance between a kid-friendly and sleek look.”

Swallow says the site will be focused on the book project and supplemented by a blog to start, but in the coming months, the community will see a shift to greater reporting and resource curation around the topics of youth entrepreneurship and early problem solving skills.
